This styled shoot took place a few months ago and it was straight out of a dream. Cassandra Tietz, from Olive + Ivy Photography and I collaborated and created a boho, modern 70's styled bridal shoot. We also took decorations from our own homes and dinnerware that was passed down to Cassandra from her mothers wedding to help us style this shoot. With our location right outside in Sandras front yard we wanted to remind brides that you can make anything beautiful by using what is around you and that you don't have to always spend hundreds of dollars to have a dream wedding. The only items we purchased for this whole shoot was the dress, the cake, and the flowers. Less is more and nature is your best friend when it comes to drawing out your wedding day. We had many generous people make this styled shoot happen, and I can't thank Sandra enough for having me collaborate with her on this idea. I enjoy working with her whenever I get the chance and I love our business relationship turned friendship. She is the bees knees.

There is so much I can say about these guys. We all have such a great chemistry together, which is so important to have with your photographer. They were wild, carefree, and belly laughing from the start. They didn't even care when I came up with the craziest ideas to try, they just did it and had fun. They have a genuine passion for each other, and I love that they allowed me to capture it. Thank you guys so much for trusting me with your memories!
I also need to thank the man that let us borrow his motorcycle for this photoshoot, thank you Kyle Eldridge it would not have been as badass if you hadn't allowed us to use your bike. And my husband, Ryan. Thank you for hauling Jamie, Goran, and I all around the location and making sure I had everything I needed at all times, YOU ROCK BABE.
I have some amazing people in my life.
A perfect day...
Tara + Yahaya's wedding day was an ideal mix of sunny & cloudy, creating the optimal lighting for our photos. Yahaya had family members come all the way from Nigeria to watch him vow to spend the rest of his life with Tara. I would be lying if I said I didn't get choked up as I saw some of these people become reunited after many years of being apart. From opposite ends of the world Tara + Yahaya's wedding day brought each and every one of these people together. This was my first time photographing at the Bissell Tree House in John Ball Zoo, and it is definitely on my list of favorite venues.

Two of my favorite people. Mikayla + Aaron were surrounded with an overwhelming amount of love on their wedding day. I am so fortunate that I was asked to capture their memories this past January! From the beautiful home their family friends offered to them for their wedding, to the vows, and the honest love they share, this day could truly never get better.
a few of my favorite moments from their day...
